Since 2022, I have been collaborating with Your Voice Recovery Hub, The Beacon Arts Centre, and The Wyllieum to create performances and facilitate a series of drama workshops. These partnerships bring together community, creativity, and care, offering participants the chance to engage with the arts in a supportive environment.

The workshops are designed as safe and welcoming spaces where individuals in recovery can build confidence, develop new skills, and connect with others who share similar experiences. Drama becomes a tool for expression and storytelling, helping participants to explore their own experiences while also stepping into new roles and perspectives.

Beyond skill-building, these sessions provide moments of playfulness and joy. They encourage participants to take creative risks, discover hidden talents, and celebrate both big and small achievements. Many of the projects culminate in performances, sometimes intimate sharings, sometimes larger public events, allowing participants to showcase their creativity and feel the pride of accomplishment.

At the heart of this work is the belief that recovery is not just about overcoming challenges, but also about rediscovering joy, imagination, and connection. By working alongside local cultural organisations, these initiatives strengthen community ties and highlight the transformative power of the arts in supporting wellbeing and recovery.
