John-Martin Fulton (Visual Arts)

Sean Casey(Visual Arts)

Through this partnership, Creative Connections has offered regular drop-in arts sessions, which include drama, dance, creative writing, and visual arts workshops.

These creative sessions are more than just artistic activities—they provide participants with a safe, welcoming space to express themselves, explore new skills, and connect with others who share similar experiences. For many within the new Scots community, these sessions can act as a much-needed outlet for processing complex emotions, telling personal stories, and reclaiming agency over their narratives. Beyond individual well-being, the sessions foster community building, encourage intercultural exchange, and help participants feel more rooted in their new environment. By engaging in collaborative art-making, people can strengthen confidence, improve communication skills, and find joy and playfulness in moments that may otherwise feel heavy.

In this way, the creative sessions not only enrich cultural life but also contribute to resilience, empowerment, and a stronger sense of belonging within the North East Glasgow community.
